Man remits Dh13m for non-existent project
A Saudi businessman fell prey to a female impostor when he remitted SR13 million (Dh13 million) to her after she persuaded him to set up a profitable farming project.
A few months after sending the money, the unnamed businessman flew to Morocco to check his project but got the shock of his life when he discovered there was no such project. He immediately reported the woman to the police.
The Moroccan daily 'Akhbarona' said police tracked the woman and arrested her but found that she had already spent most of the money her family, travels abroad and on a luxury car worth nearly Dh500,000.
