Man stabs wife 10 times

A Saudi man stabbed his wife 10 times following an argument and doctors said her lungs and spleen were damaged, newspapers reported.

The 22-year-old woman was rushed to hospital in the central town of Buraidah after her husband stabbed her in the chest and other parts of her body.

Police said they arrested the husband after fleeing home, adding they were interrogating him to know his motives.

“Despite her heavy bleeding and pains, the woman remained coherent and did not cry of pain…instead, she did not stop praying for God to forgive her husband,” the Arabic language daily Alriyadh said.

Woman discovers brain cancer after husband attack

A Saudi woman discovered she had brain cancer while having medical tests after her husband attacked her and smashed a plate on her head during an argument.

A digestive system and liver consultant at a hospital in the western Saudi town of Madina, Najla said her husband attacked her after she rebuked him for taking drugs.

She told Saudi newspapers that she started to suffer from severe headaches following treatment of her head wound, prompting doctors to perform a scan on her head.

“She was diagnosed with a brain cancer….because of this, she was suspended from work,” Alsaudeh Arabic language daily said.

“The woman said she has fled her home because her husband is a drug addict and that she now lives in a small flat with her two daughters…she said she had accumulated a debt of more than SR700,000 as she had to borrow for the treatment of her head and one daughter, who suffers from heart problems.”
