Man sues firm over impotence
A Saudi is suing a construction company after his fall in a pit dug by the firm inflicted injuries and caused him impotence, a local daily said on Tuesday.
The man, identified by his first name Mansour, said he was walking back home in the western port of Jeddah when he plunged into the three-metre hole in the middle of the road, the Arabic language newspaper Almadina said.
Mansour said he was severely injured by the fall, which caused fractures in his left leg and wounds in his back and penis.
He said passers-by who heard him groaning plucked him out of the pit and took him to hospital, where he had treatment for nearly two months.
“I will have to travel abroad to continue treatment of my penis….the fall has caused me sexual problems and this treatment could cost me more than SR600,000 plus air tickets and stay,” he said.
“I have filed a law suit against that company because the pit was unattended and there were no signboards or anything to warn people about it.”
