Man to pay Dh3m for abandoning wife

A Saudi court ordered a local man to pay his SR 3 million (Dh3 million) for abandoning his wife for nearly 32 years without supporting her and the children.

The court in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah found the husband guilty of failing to support his family and ordered him to pay his wife SR5,000 alimony every month.

The court issued its sentence after it found that the husband earns around SR80,000 (Dh80,000) a month, according to ‘Almadina’ newspaper.
