Saudi authorities have ordered the immediate closure of all massage centres in the capital Riyadh following reports they were involved in “unethical” activities.

The Arabic language daily Al Saudeh, quoting informed sources, said the Riyadh municipality issued a circular on Thursday, August 15, to shut those centres.

“The decision came after those centres were found to be involved in serious offences, including unethical activities,” it said without elaborating.

Schizophrenic commits suicide

A Saudi man suffering from schizophrenia committed a suicide by shooting himself in the head, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

His father found the son’s body lying in a pool of blood near their house in the southern Saudi province of Asir near the border of Yemen.

The father told police his son had a gun at the time of the suicide and produced a medical report from a local hospital showing he was suffering from schizophrenia.
