A Saudi man who lost his way in the heart of the desert was found nearly five days after his car got stuck in the sand, triggering a massive police land and air search operation, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
A local farmer on his way to his remote farm found the 25-year-old university student in a bad condition and half naked in the middle of the desert near the western town of Taif, the Arabic language daily Okaz said.
“The man told police his car went out of its way during a sandstorm and got stuck in sand…he had to walk nearly 20 km for five days and felt he would perish before he was found by the farmer,” the paper said.
