Patient mistakenly told he had AIDS

A Saudi patient who had lived for 100 days in fear that he had AIDS was later told by the hospital that he is healthy and there was a typing mistake in the former report.

Hassan Ismail said he had reported the case to the health department in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah after the hospital sent him an apology.

‘Ajel’ newspaper quoted department officials as saying the hospital had given Ismail a report showing he was infected with the killer disease.

“It was typing mistake and he was sent another report showing he had no AIDS…we are taking measures against those responsible for this stupid error,” an official said.
