Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal, a nephew of King Abdullah, says he started his business in 1980 in a little shabby wood and steel chalet before it turned into one of the biggest business groups in the world.

Rated as the richest man in the Arab world and one of the world’s wealthiest persons, the Prince published a picture of the tiny structure, which he photographed at night while practicing his daily cycling exercise.

Sabq Arabic language daily said Al Waleed made the revelation on his Twitter page in a bid to show that he started from the scratch. But in comments sent to the paper, most of the readers said they did not believe the Prince started from zero.

“This small caravan represents my beginning in business is my first office which I set up in 1980 and continued until 1983. It was in Fakhriya area (Riyadh),”  the 58-year-old Prince said.

Sabq said more than 500 persons reacted to Prince Al Waleed on his Twitter page while many of them and its readers said they are surprised by the disclosure.
