Prison teacher sells drugs to inmates

A Saudi court sentenced a prison teacher to five years in jail and ordered him lashed 500 times after he was convicted of smuggling drugs to the inmates.

The teacher confessed to selling drugs after he was caught by prison guards in the Eastern Al Qateef province trying to smuggle nearly 1,140 drug pills.

“The teacher confessed to selling drugs to the prisoners for money…the court also fined him SR20,000 (Dh20,000),” Sada daily said.
