Qatar announces new coronavirus case

Qatari Health Higher Council has registered a new case of the deadly coronavirus after a man was diagnosed with flu and other symptoms earlier in the week.

The 29-year-old was diagnosed in the National Centre for Flu, and samples were sent to laboratories abroad for confirmation, according to a press statement from the health authority. According to the statement, the patient is in critical condition, and is currently under observation in the intensive care unit.

The Health Higher Council said it would be taking precautionary measures to monitor and confront the disease, including the isolation of any case it encounters.
