Rusted key sold for Dh90,000

A rusted key was sold in Saudi Arabia for SR90,000 (Dh90,000) after it was offered for sale for charity by a Saudi girl studying in the United States.

Adwa Al Dakheel said she had not expected the key to fetch that much after she offered it for sale online, according to local newspapers.

She said that she put the key for sale online after it was left broken in the lock of her door for several years, adding that she wanted to donate funds for charity.

“In less than 24 hours, the key fetched SR90,000…it was sold for that sum, which I had never expected,” she said.
