A 19-year-old Saudi driver was killed when his car overturned on a motorway in the Gulf Kingdom as he was trying to harass other drivers by throwing stones and other objects at their vehicles, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

Two drivers phoned the police to tell them their windshields were smashed when stones and metal objects were hurled by that driver as he overtook them at a high speed on the motorway near the northwestern town of Qurayyat late night.

“We sent a police patrol to that area and found that the driver was killed after his car swerved off the road and overturned,” police spokesman Colonel Turku Al Muwaishir said, quoting by the Arabic language daily Sabq.

Saudi stopped from ending life for 3rd time

A Saudi man climbed to the roof of his house and threatened to slit his throat with a knife, prompting his family to call police and the civil defence.

When they arrived, police quickly recognized the man as they had managed to dissuade him from committing a suicide two times before.

“They succeeded in persuading the man to drop the knife and come down,” Sabq newspaper said in a report from the southern town of Balujrashi.

“Police and civil defence said it was the third time that they have stopped the man from ending his life….they said he had been sent to the psychiatry hospital.”
