Saudi eyes Guinness with largest date dish

Saudi Arabia intends to enter the Guinness book of records by staging the world's largest dish of dates as part of its annual palm date festival starting on Sunday, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf Kingdom said on Sunday.

The dish will be 3.5 metre long, 75 cm wide and 50 cm high and will include “the best types of date in the world,” Alwatan said, quoting Amal Al Zahrani, director of the government-sponsored festival.

“The aim of this dish is to record a world date achievement in the name of Saudi Arabia,” she said.
