Saudi government office burgled

Unknown thieves have broken into a government department in Saudi Arabia and stole money and important papers, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Sunday.

The burglary was discovered on Saturday at the Ministry of Commerce offices in the eastern province of Ihsa, the Arabic language daily Alihsa said.

It quoted sources as saying the items stolen included cash, cheques and important documents. “Authorities are investigating the incident,” the paper said without elaborating on the funds looted.
