Saudi Arabia has discovered more than 13,900 cases of the acquired immuno-deficiency syndrome (AIDS) over the past 25 years and the bulk of them are foreigners, newspapers in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Wednesday..

Nearly 95 per cent of the victims of the killer disease are men while the rest are women and children, they said, quoting official data.

Between 1984 and 2008, a total 13,926 AIDS cases were detected in the country, including 10,388 expatriates, the figures showed.

The papers did not mention death cases nor did they say what happened to the expatriate victims. But foreigners suffering from AIDS in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf  oil producers are deported immediately.
