Saudi jet averts disaster after hitting birds on landing

A Saudi passenger aircraft narrowly escaped a disaster after hitting birds just as it prepared to land after a domestic flight in the Gulf Kingdom.

The Airbus 321 was approaching the runway in the eastern Saudi town of Dammam when a flock of birds banged the front window of the pilot’s cabin.

“The window was damaged but the pilot succeeded in bringing the aircraft down safely. The plane was later taken for repairing,” Ajel Arabic language daily said, without mentioning the number of passengers on board.
