Saudi makes world’s largest cake for National Day

Saudi Arabia has launched the world’s largest cake that can feed more than 9,500 people to mark its 83th national day which was celebrated on Monday.

The cake was displayed at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah and Saudi newspapers said it was classified as the world’s largest cake by the Guinness Book of Records.

Weighing around three tonnes, the cake was made by 35 chefs over four days and is enough to feed 9,520 people. It is around 12 metres long and nine metres wide, with a total area of 102 square metres and a size of 16.2 cubic metres.
