When doctors failed to rid a Saudi boy from excruciating pain in his finger because of a tight ring, his father instantly thought about his mechanic friend. The idea did work and the ring was off his son’s finger in seconds.

The boy had accepted a challenge by his friends and used his full force to push the ring around his finger. He won the bet but he apparently had not thought of the way back as the small ring got stuck and caused severe pain and swelling.

“His father decided to quickly take him to hospital, where doctors worked on him…but they failed to get the ring out and gave up,” Shams Arabic language newspaper said in a report from the central town of Taif.

“His father then phoned his friend, who is a mechanic…the friend asked him to bring him to his garage immediately…he used his tools to cut off the ring and pull it out of the boy’s fingers easily.”
