Two Saudi men working for a local company as money transporters stole their shipment and informed the police they had been robbed by unknown thieves.

The two, transporting nearly SR26 million (Dh25.5 million) to the company’s branch in the eastern province of Ihsa, told police they have just finished eating at a restaurant and stepped out when they found out their car had disappeared.

“Investigation into the incident which took place last week showed that the two were the thieves and have an accomplice who clearly stole the car and the money,” the Arabic language daily Sabq said, adding that police are still hunting down the third man to recover the money.
