A 19-year-old Saudi man texted his friends to indicate he could die shortly and ask them to forgive him.
A few hours later, he was killed in a road accident.
Khaled Al Ahmari sent texts to the mobile phones of most of his friends in the southern Saudi town of Abha before they learned he died in a tragic road mishap in that area.
“Death comes suddenly. We do not feel it. Please forgive me for everything,” he said in his message, published by Okaz daily which quoted his friend Bandar Al Shahri.
Al Shahri described his friend as a “straightforward, pious and sincere man, who had never stopped smiling.”
“He had always advised me to repent and to ask God to guide me to the right path, saying death could catch us off guard,” he said.
