Saudi pays Dh300,000 for mobile number

A Saudi man paid SR300,000 (Dh300,000) for the mobile phone number 0539000000 during an auction held by the state Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) on Wednesday, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

STC said the number fetched the highest price at the “special mobile phone number” auction which was opened in Riyadh with a number for SR5,000 (Dh5,000).

Ajel newspaper quoted STC officials as saying the auction attracted a large crowd and that money special numbers were sold for SRmillions.
