Saudi population estimated at 31m

Saudi Arabia’s population totaled around 31 million at the end of 2015, including nearly 11 million foreigners, according to official Saudi data.

The figure by the Statistics Authority is nearly one million above the population at the end of 2014 and more than double the Gulf kingdom’s population three decades ago.

Saudi Arabia is the world’s largest oil exporter and controls more than 15 per cent of the global crude resources at around 260 billion barrels.
