Saudi restaurant accused of serving donkey meat

A Saudi restaurant was accused of serving donkey meat to customers in a film on the Gulf Kingdom’s social networks but authorities later said the report is not true.

Newspapers said they were flooded by queries from readers about the film showing a man inside the restaurant in the northwestern town of Hail pointing towards cooking dishes and saying that they are used in cooking donkey meat.

'Sada' daily quoted the restaurant owner as saying a Saudi man posting as a health inspector went into the kitchen and made the film

“The owner filed a complaint to authorities accusing that man of making a false film…authorities later denied the report and said that meat examined by official health inspectors showed it is beef and mutton,” it said.
