Published

A Saudi woman in her 80s donated all her wealth of around SR500 million (Dh495 million) for charity in the Gulf Kingdom, a well known Saudi businessman has said.

“Mashallah (God willing), this woman donated all her wealth to charity work in Saudi Arabia. It is estimated at more than SR500 million. God bless her,” Badr bin Mohammed Al Rajshi said on his Twitter page, according to Mzmz website.

The agency said readers of the news poured praise on the unnamed woman, with one saying:”she is an example of charitable Saudi women".

Another said:”May God the Almighty will reward her for this great benevolent work.”

The site did not mention where the woman lives in Saudi Arabia. Her donation is believed to be one of the largest alms offers in the oil-rich Gulf Kingdom.

Last month, an 18-year-old Saudi girl was reported to have donated nearly SR50 million for charity in the largest Arab country.
