Saudi woman traps and sells falcon for $107,000
An old Saudi farmer who was tending to her sheep in the heart of the desert had apparently not thought she would make a fortune when she saw a rare falcon stalking her animals.
At first she only thought of how to protect her sheep. But the idea then developed into catching the bird.
“She shouted to her son and another shepherd who were tending to sheep not far away…with their help, she made a bait of a pigeon and succeeded in catching the falcon alive,” Sabq Arabic language daily said in a report from the Saudi northeastern province of Hafr Al Batin.
“On her way back home, her son stopped at a petrol station to fill his car…..a businessman from another Gulf country saw the falcon in her hand…he offered SR400,000 ($107,000) and she instantly accepted the offer.”
