Saudi women beat men in plastic surgeries
Women in Saud Arabia are far more enthusiastic for plastic surgeries and those aged between 28 and 37 years are the most demanding group, a local newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Around 85 per cent of those who had cosmetic surgeries last year were women while only 15 per cent were men, Alyoum Arabic language daily said.
Citing a report by the Specialized Medical Centre in the eastern Saudi port of Dammam, the paper said the 28-37 year age group accounted for nearly 35 per cent of those who underwent plastic operations while those aged between 18 and 28 years amounted for about 31 per cent.
It put the ratio at 25 per cent for the 37-50 years age group, six per cent for those above 50 years and three per cent for under-18.
The report showed the bulk of the plastic surgeries for women involved hair removal by laser, liposuction, Botox and Collagen injections, breast enlargement and beautification of the nose. Men were interested in nose operations, liposuction and hair removal.
