Scholar condoled 17 years after mom's death

A well-known Saudi Moslem scholar was flooded with online messages from the public offering condolences on the demise of his mother although she died 17 years ago.

Sheikh Adel Al Kalbani said people made a mistake by thinking his mother has just died when they saw him crying during evening prayers at a mosque in the capital Riyadh as he prayed to God to have mercy on his mother and other dead people he knows.

“I received many messages of condolence…thank you all but I would like to draw your attention that my mother died 17 years ago,” he said, according to Sada newspaper.
