A Saudi school head was accused of using a rope to lash a preparatory class boy to punish him for arguing with another student in the school in the Gulf Kingdom.

Pictures of the lashed student Nawaf published by 'Sada' newspaper showed red marks and bruises on his hands and legs after he was assaulted by the head master.

“We are investigating the incident and will take necessary measures after the investigation is completed,” said Sultan Al Mahous, information director at the education department in the central Al Qasseem province, where the school is based.

The paper quoted the student’s father Saleh Al Jarbou as saying the school head must be punished for causing “physical and psychological harm” to his son.
