Security breach: Cologne airport cleared

The Cologne-Bonn Airport in Germany has been partly evacuated, according to passenger and news reports.

Early reports suggest the evacuation was caused following a security breach after ‘non-authorised people’ entered a restricted area at the airfield, according to Airlive.net.

Passengers who had passed through security checks and boarded flights have also been called back.

Passenger Franz Wiegers, who stated on social media that he was aboard RyanAir flight FR184, had to deplane.
He tweeted: “We must leave the plane, return to security check, then back to FR184.”

He followed those tweets up with: “FR184 is cancelled; Terminal 2 is closed, police is there.”

Further details are awaited.
