Six-year-old boy caught stealing

A goldsmith who found out an expensive piece of jewelry was missing just after a family of three left his shop in Kuwait quickly went through his security camera. To his surprise, the item was pinched by a six-year-old boy.

After phoning the police, he rushed after them and grabbed the boy. The boy’s mother and her husband protested but he would not leave the child. When police arrived, the boy gave them the item, which has a value of around KD800 ($2,720), the Arabic language daily Alanba said.

“The boy told them he stole the item because his step father told him to do so…he said his step father had always encouraged him to steal and had rewarded him…police arrested the three for theft,” the paper said, adding that the boy could be the “youngest known thief in Kuwait.”
