Sri Lankan cabin crew killed in Doha accident

Colombo: A Sri Lankan cabin crew was killed and three crew members injured in an accident in Doha, Qatar, on January 30, reported local media.

The crew went on a desert safari and their vehicle was involved in an accident, killing Amendra de Kau, a resident of Raddolugama, and injuring three others.

The crew was scheduled to return onboard SriLankan Airlines flight No. UL218 on Friday night.

An Airline source who confirmed the accident said the three staff who has been hospitalized in Doha is out of danger.

Kapila Chandrasena, CEO, SriLankan Airlines, said, “We are shocked and deeply saddened by this news and our first priority has been to be in touch with the families of those involved in this tragic accident and to provide them with all the necessary care and assistance in their hour of grief.”
