Toy plane used to smuggle drugs into Saudi prison

Unknown smugglers used a toy plane to get drugs and other items into a Saudi jail but the attempt was foiled by prison guards, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The plane was found to be carrying 93 drug pills, 10 mobile phones, eight phone chargers and 10 SIM cards as it landed in an open hall near the inmate cells inside the prison in the Western Saudi town of Makkah, ‘Sada’ said.

It quoted prison Director Colonel Saleh Al Qahtani as saying the plane was found by prison guards before inmates had access to it.

“We found those items in a bag tied to the plane…we are investigating the case to identify the smugglers,” he said.
