Saudi police seized several Asian workers who were collecting crates of bad oranges dumped in the garbage to sell them at low prices near mosques and other public places, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
Police in the northwestern town of Tabuk had received calls from residents that Asian workers at the vegetable market gather around large waste bins every night and collect oranges to sell them to the public at cheap prices.
“Police went to the scene late night and waited for them…many workers came later and started to collect oranges from the waste bins,” Sabq daily said.
“Police rounded them up and took them away for interrogation…they confessed to selling the oranges near mosques and other public places for low prices on Fridays,” the paper said.
