Trial of Kuwait mosque blast culprits begin
The criminal court in Kuwait today began the trial proceeding for 29 defendants on charges of being linked to the Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque's blast in June, local media reported.
Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, said that seven Kuwaitis, five Saudis, three Pakistanis, 13 illegal residents, and a fugitive defendant, whose nationality has not been yet disclosed, were accused of targeting the mosque.
The charges against the defendants include use of explosives, incitement to commit crime, and affiliation to a banned group that adopts extremist views which contradicts the state's policies.
The attack, which occurred in Kuwait City on June 26th, left 26 people killed and 227 others injured.
