Two camels killed after fall into RAK manhole

Two camels were killed after falling into an uncovered manhole in Ras Al Khaimah while another camel was rescued, press reports said on Thursday.

The camels were passing through that area in the Red Island in the northern emirate when they plunged into the pit.

Police and residents joined hands to lift the animals out but managed to rescue one, according to the semi official daily Alittihad.

“Two camels died as they could not be saved because of their heavy weight,” the paper said.
