Two held after trying to poison horses

Saudi police arrested two men who sneaked into a farm and tried to poison the horses to prevent them from participating in a local race, the Arabic language daily Alriyadh reported on Sunday.

The farm owner phoned the police to tell them he had seen two unidentified persons sneaking in at night and heading for the horse stables in his farm in the eastern province of Ihsa, the paper said.

“Police later arrested the two who admitted they tried to poison the horses to prevent them from participating in a horse race in the area.”
