Two kill man for Dh250 in Kuwait

Two expatriate Arab men invited their friend to a café in Kuwait and killed him after he refused to pay back KD20 (Dh250), a newspaper reported on Sunday.

A criminal court in the oil-rich Gulf emirate had earlier sentenced the two to death on charges of premeditated murder but a court of appeals reduced the verdict to 10 years in prison, the Arabic language daily ‘Al Anba’ said.

“Their lawyer convinced court that they had not planned to kill their friend because they invited him to a public place,” the paper said.

“The invitation to the café saved their life as it ruled out their intention to murder their friend,” the paper added without identifying the defendants and the victim.
