Kuwaiti airport customs inspectors arrested two housemaids trying to smuggle six kg of Qat, a drug-like herb, in coffee pots, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The inspectors decided to search the two maids after suspecting they were carrying banned substances as they arrived in the oil-rich Gulf emirate.
“After searching their bags, the customs officials found nearly six kg of Qat hidden inside coffee pits,” the Arabic language daily ‘Alwatan’ said without identifying the maids.
