Two teens jailed for 7 years, to get 700 lashes
A Saudi court sentenced two local teenage boys to seven years in jail and ordered they be lashed 700 times each after they were convicted of robbing several taxi drivers at knife-point, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Police had arrested the two in the capital Riyadh following reports by some taxi drivers, including a Yemeni and a Pakistani, that they have been burgled at knife point.
“The two boys also confessed to stealing some cars, houses and shops in different areas of the capital,” Sabq daily said, adding that they would be lashed in batches.
