Video: Man tries to end life near Grand Mosque

An Asian worker tried to jump from a high-rise hotel near the Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia before he was persuaded not to commit a suicide.

'Sada' newspaper said police talked to the half-naked man who was standing at the edge of the top of the hotel near the Grand Mosque in the Western Makkah town before he handed himself over to them.

A YouTube film showed the man walked safely with the law enforcers and taken down by the lift after he was given a cigarette.

The paper said the unnamed man could be suffering from mental illness.
