Video: Rat-infested restaurant shut down

Saudi health authorities shut down a famous international fast food restaurant in the Gulf Kingdom after a film published on social media showed a rat devouring food from the customers' buffet.

The film, published by the Arabic language daily Almadina, showed the rodent appeared undisturbed taking its time gnawing at the food prepared for the customers.

The paper said the film was shot by a female customer who went in to have a meal at the restaurant in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

"Authorities decided to shut down the restaurant after seeing the film. Inspectors also found other health offences, including poor cleanliness levels," it said.
