We will always owe UAE: Aden Governor
The Yemeni people will always owe the UAE for its great role in restoring legitimacy and liberating the country from rebels bent on destroying Yemen, the new governor of Aden was reported on Sunday as saying.
Major General Jaafar Saad the government is working on arrangements for reconstruction of war damaged facilities and helping those affected by the conflict, adding that a programme in this respect is being devised with the help of the UAE.
He stressed that security and safety of the people remain a priority for the government and that the people in Aden back the government in this regards.
“We are grateful for the UAE’s great role in sending its brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to support the oppressed and liberate the country from the Houthi rebels and their supporters and in rehabilitating basic services in Yemen. We will always owe the UAE,” Saad told the semi-official UAE daily 'Al Ittihad'.
He said the government also gives priority to education and health and that the UAE Red Crescent is playing a key role in rehabilitating these services.
“We also have plans to attract investment for rebuilding facilities and services…we expect members of the coalition, on top of which are the UAE and Saudi Arabia, to help our country by reviving its economy and reconstructing war damaged facilities.”
