An Asian man who bought four kg of mutton from an Arab butcher in Kuwait was assured it was Arab not Australian meat. When he returned home, his delight turned into anger when his wife told him it was Australian.
The man then quickly returned to the butcher and poured accusations of fraud and swindling on him, forgetting the big cleaver in the butcher’s grip.
“The butcher again assured him that it was Arab not Australian mutton but the Asian man told him he is a liar,” the Arabic language daily Alanba said.
“The butcher angrily refused to take the meat back, firmed his grip on the cleaver and chased the Asian, threatening to kill him.”
The paper said the Asian man reported the incident to the police and accused the butcher of trying to kill him. But it did not make clear why the unidentified Asian expatriate in Kuwait City insisted on having Arab mutton.
