Wife delivered by husband at hospital

A Saudi woman delivered at hospital with the help of her husband after doctors insisted she must have Cesarean operation, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The husband rushed his wife to a private hospital in the Western Saudi town of Makkah after she went into labour but doctors told him she needs to have an operation.

After he refused, the doctor left the examination room and told him he can have her delivered at another hospital, ‘Sada’ daily said.

“His wife went into labour again at the examination room. With his help, she delivered there and the baby was taken by a nurse to the obstetrics ward,” it said.

“The hospital refused to give him a birth certificate after he refused to pay SR3,500 (Dh3,500) delivery fees. The husband decided to report the case to authorities.”
