Wife gets shot trying to stop husband’s suicide

A Saudi woman was injured when she was accidentally shot after she tried to stop her ill husband from committing a suicide, newspapers said on Tuesday.

The woman in the northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin was rushed to hospital after she was shot in the stomach when she tried to grab the gun off her husband, who tried to kill himself following mental problems.

“She jumped on him in the last minute and grabbed the gun but it went off…the bullet struck her in the stomach,” Okaz Arabic language daily said.
