Woman accused of killing maid in Saudi
A Saudi woman was accused of killing her Asian housemaid by systematically torturing her and locking her up, a newspaper reported on Monday.
'Al Madina' said the woman has been jailed ahead of her trial in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah next week although she claimed the maid was injured after jumping from the second floor to escape her employer.
The maid was brought to hospital last week with serious injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit before she died on the next day, the paper said.
Maid ends life at employer’s house
An Ethiopian housemaid committed a suicide by hanging herself in her room at her employer’s house in Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Her Saudi employer phoned the police after he found the door of the maid’s room was locked and she was not responding, 'Al Riyadh' said.
Police smashed their way into the room and found the maid, in her 20s, hanging by a rope tied round her neck to the ceiling.
