Woman driving, breaking fast hits cars

Saudi Police arrested an Eritrean woman caught driving a car in violation of a long-standing ban and eating during the day in the fasting month of Ramadan.

Police chased the woman, who was with a Syrian man, after she banged into two other vehicles and fled the area in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

Both the woman and the man were arrested and would stand trial on charges of violating female-driving ban, hitting other cars and breaking Ramadan values, the Arabic language daily ‘Sabq’ said.
