Woman-led car theft gang busted in Saudi

Saudi police arrested 10 persons accused of stealing many cars over the past few months and their leader turned out to be a woman, a newspaper said on Sunday.

“It is one of the rarest gang theft cases in Saudi Arabia and this gang is headed by a woman,” the Arabic language daily 'Sabq' said.

It quoted police as saying the woman lured victims by seducing them so they will give her a lift to her house in the southern province of Jazan.

“On the way, the woman would tell the driver to stop for a while so she can get some items she had ordered from a shop and would ask him to help her,” it said.

“Once the driver went into the shop to help the woman, two members of the gang shadowing the car on motorcycles would get into the vehicle and drive away.”
