If you have enough money and would like to possess the dagger of late King Abdul Aziz ibn Saudi, the first monarch and founder of Saudi Arabia, then you should head for Riyadh. But before embarking on this trip, you have to prove that you deserve it.

An Egyptian woman claims it has that dagger and all documents verifying it belonged to King Abdul Aziz, who ruled Saudi Arabia from
1876 until 1953.

The woman, who requested anonymity, said she had bought the dagger while in London, where it was sold by the family of late Egyptian defence minister Haydar Pasha. According to that family, King Abdul Aziz had given the dagger to Pasha as a gift in recognition of his efforts to end a rift between Saudi Arabia and Egypt under King Farouk, who ruled the most populous Arab country from 1920 to 1965.

“The family told me they sold the dagger to a friend who sold it to an antique dealer in London in 2004….in 2010, that dealer offered the dagger for sale and it was a mere coincidence that I bought it,” she told the Saudi Sabq newspaper.

“I have all the needed documents proving it belonged to late King Abdul Aziz…I have received some offers to sell it but I want to sell it to the person who appreciates its historical value…I believe the Saudi royal family can appreciate its value.”
