Woman seeks divorce from 'ugly' husband

A Saudi woman filed for a divorce from her husband at a court in the Gulf Kingdom on the grounds he is very ugly, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

After the husband failed to turn up at two court sessions, the judge ordered police to bring him by force for a third session to hear the divorce case, Ajel Arabic language daily said in a report from the Western Red sea port of Al Qunfudhah.

"The judge then listened to the couple and tried to reconcile them but the wife insisted on having a divorce, saying her husband is very ugly," the paper said.

"The judge decided to adjourn hearings to another session to have time to study this bizarre case before issuing a sentence."
